今日はTMW Snowmotoの今後3年又は4年間のボード生産計画についてご案内します。ここに掲載されたボードは、必ずしも記載順にリリースされるとは限りません。発売時期は、今後の経済・物価情勢や為替動向に基づいて決定されます。全モデル共に販売数量は限定となります。バンブーモデルはポプラとバンブーベニヤを使用。3Dソールが標準装備となります。(SHARK Ⅱ以降はコア材に使用するバンブーを竹特有のしなりを最大限引き出すため2Sから6Sバンブーに大幅アップ)
さらに、TMWのフラッグシップモデルとしてリリースされる「R Lineシリーズ」は、長年にわたり培ってきた独自の製造技術とノウハウを駆使して開発された「G5 Light Wood & Full Carbon」を採用。耐久性と柔軟性を兼ね備えたこの革新的なボードは、従来のボードより約1～1.5kg軽量化 (モデルにもよりますがフロントボード1本分の重さに相当) された「超軽量ボード」になります。
ボードの滑走性能はボード重量に比例しません。重量の重い軽いより、板のディメンションやソール構造、フレックスバランスの方が重要です。それでもスノーバイクの場合、ボードにフレームがプラスされるためBCでのロングハイクでメリットがあったり、カービングやグラトリで板の取り回しに影響が出てくるため、重いより軽い方が総合的には十分メリットはあると思います。なお、ここでご紹介するこれらのボードは、将来的に開発を断念したり生産を延期する場合があります。

Today, we would like to share TMW Snowmoto’s board production plan for the next three to four years. Please note that the boards listed here will not necessarily be produced in the order presented. The release date will be determined based on future economic and inflation conditions, as well as exchange rate trends. All models will be available in limited quantities. The Bamboo models feature a poplar and bamboo plywood construction and come standard with 3D soles. (Starting with the SHARK II, the bamboo used for the core material has been significantly upgraded from 2S to 6S bamboo to maximize the unique flexibility of bamboo.)
Furthermore, the “R Line Series,” released as TMW’s flagship model, features “G5 Light Wood & Full Carbon,” developed using proprietary manufacturing technologies and know-how cultivated over many years. Combining durability and flexibility, this innovative board is an “Ultra-lightweight board” that weighs approximately 1 to 1.5 kg less than conventional boards (depending on the model, this is equivalent to the weight of a single front board).
Note that a board’s glide performance is not directly proportional to its weight. Board dimensions, sole construction, and flex balance are more important than whether the board is heavy or light. However, in the case of snowbikes, since a frame is added to the board, there are advantages during long backcountry hikes, and the board’s maneuverability affects carving and park tricks; therefore, I believe that, overall, there are sufficient benefits to choosing a lighter board over a heavier one. Please note that the boards introduced here may be discontinued or have their production postponed in the future.
